One of my favourite finds recently was my Giselda Graham Pineapple a little pricey at £30 but worth it for it's charming kitsch - Ness!  So reminiscent of 70's pineapple ice buckets.

So loving the bird!

This charming pineapple led me to investigate what other pineapple treats are on the market.

I am currently lusting after this wonderful  Abigail Ahern candle holder.

Mirror Mirror on the wall!

Mirrors are integral to any good home decor. I adore them, particularly vintage convex mirrors, they add fun, light and depth to any space. You can pick them up relatively Cheaply from antique shops. Or if your lucky, charity shops & car boots.

Even though I have displayed my mirrors separately or with other objects, I really love to see mirrors displayed as a collection. Like these delights!

Copper Interior Highlights

Since putting the offer in on the house & having it accepted, I have become obsessed with pinning boards on pinterest & gathering inspiration.  One of the key trends this season I have come across is copper! As a huge fan of orange, this is right down my colour pallet alley.
On my travels last week I managed to pick up a mid - century style ex - display lamp from Next. The shade had took a bit of a beating so, after a bit of shopping I found this bargain £10 copper shade from Asda.

The copper shade has a slight pattern which is hard to see from the photo.

I believe in mixing different styles and price ranges to get the look you want. I shall definitely be looking out for some more copper highlights.

Here are a few ways you can use copper in different settings, I particularly love the copper lights for the kitchen.

Lamp Love!

I don't know about you but, lamps are a constant in my world. They are one of those interior items I just can't get enough off.
You can find interesting looking lamps relatively cheaply from most home stores. It's decent shades where the expense lies it seems.

I love quirky & vintage style lamps, they can add drama & interest to any room. The shade on this one is a beaut, and a very cheap buy from Asda.

These two vintage style lamps I also got from Asda, £35 each. I actually really rate their home stuff as it is usually bang on trend & affordable. Ideally I would like to change the shades. Really pleased I chose two different coloured lamps to add a different dimension. 

In  an ideal world  I  would  like  to  change  the  shades to some beautiful Tretchikoff  ones  they would look just perfect. However they are a little expensive, I was chatting  to  a friend today about how easy would it be to  make lampshades?  If you have any experience of such things then do let me know ???

Some more lamp bases I have had kicking around for a while are these two stunners, crackle glaze lamps from the 1970's. I have been meaning to get them some shades for a fair while now. Although they do also need a re - wire! 

Lamps definitely  bring some light into my life: I have been researching pendant lights recently but, that's  a whole other post. Hope you have enjoyed reading my little blurb about lamps! !! :-) 

Sunday Vintage Searching!

Up relatively early this morn to head to the Antiques fair at the Motorcycle museum Birmingham. Never been before so was hoping for great things! At first wasn't looking too good as there was a lot of rather twee looking shizzle.
However after a good search round found a rather nice cranberry victorian candlestick for £15. I tried haggling for £10 but the lady was having none of it!!

I also picked up a floral pic by Vernon Ward, love these kitsch prints £20.

A Suprising Scheme!

Having gone Sofa shopping with a friend a few weeks ago, I fell in love with a green velvet sofa in 'sofaworks' of all places. I don't know whether you have been sofa shopping lately but, there is a plethora of ugly/boring sofa's out there.
I loved the mid century/ vintage feel of this sofa, if you ignore the stripey cushions it is a beaut!

This got me to thinking if I was to go for such a colour sofa, what kind of colour palette sits well with green?

I came across this image on Pinterest and was struck by the purple tones! Anyone who knows me will know, purple is one of my least favourite colours. However when I started researching greens with purples and pinks. I came across some stunning schemes.

The acid tones of the greens sit so well.

The different textures with the green, purple and pink hues are so pretty. Love the floral accents too.

I am definitely  hoping to bring this colour scheme somewhere into my new house. What do you think, are you a fan of the greens & purples?

Miss Wong & a tour round my living room.

Today I thought I would give you a tour around my living room, I ended up primarily with a blue scheme purely because it was the only nice sofa I could find with a Mid- Century feel.

I find  blue can feel quite cold so, I decided to add some olive green tones with the

Sanderson swallow canvas which I made. I also found the perfect ceiling shade at Dunhelm! 

I was also extremely lucky to find 'Miss Wong' at a local antique shop, she manages to bring all the colours of the room together.

I had alot of vintage orange glass from the 60 ' s & 70's and my 60's rocket lamp which work perfectly just to add a few accents of orange throughout.

When I try to describe the colours involved in my living room, I think people find it hard to imagine them going together. Just having a few splashes of orange really helps to warm up the room. Hope you enjoyed the little tour :-) Any interior questions be lovely to hear from you.
