Time Flies!

BEAUTIFUL CITUIDELLA

Flipping heck! It has been two months since my last blog, can't quite believe it! Things have been ticking along as usual, did have a lovely week away in Menorca, beautiful sunshine and gorgeous  sea. Really loved visiting Cituidella & seeing all the stunning buildings. Such a vibrant beautiful city.

At last I have news on the house front, fingers crossed we will be getting the keys on Friday, I am so excited. I will then be able to start my blog in earnest!
Here's a little collage of some snaps I have been posting over on instagram.

Farrow & Ball, it's Green!

For the kitchen, I plan to do one wall in faux brick wallpaper ( how very 70's!) and the other opposite wall in Farrow & Ball, trying to choose between vert de terre  & lichen?

My preference is the Lichen but, the other half is all about the vert de terre which seems to be the consensus of opinion. Anybody on my side & has anyone used this paint???

All the Wallpaper!

Hi all, Well it's been a little while since my last post: I started this blog with the intention of documenting my house purchase and subsequent renovation. However, that all didn't go to plan unfortunately. After a lot of thought and a change of heart we pulled out of the property as at this time it was just too much work...... So, not one for wasting time we got straight back out there and purchased another property! This one needs a heck of alot less work  so it will be straight onto the fun bit of decorating!

I really can't  wait to get started now, fingers crossed in about 6 weeks we should be in! I have had so much time to start planning the decor that I have sourced all my wallpapers and I am ready to go!

For the living and dining room there are two chimney breasts and I wanted these to be the same design but two different colours that complimented each other. I decided on Orla Kiely 'giant stem'.

For the master bedroom, I have chosen possibly my favourite all time wallpaper, I simply had to get this one in somewhere. Sanderson Swallows.
For the guest room, I wanted something relatively neutral and this was probably the hardest to find. Eventually I found these from Missprint.

I am also hoping to use a green Farrow & Ball paint in the kitchen. As you can see I have been very conscious of making sure my colours will go through out the house. I believe everything should flow :-)

Birthday treasure in Bridgnorth

Last week it was my birthday, so for a birthday treat me & a friend decided to head to Bridgnorth for a day out antique hunting! If you have never been it is well worth a visit  it is a really nice town to have an amble about, really pretty with the river and some lovely building's. Although last Thursday the weather God's were not smiling on me & it was hissing it down. Also it was half day closing so a handful of the antique shops were shut but, there were plenty of others antique shops & of course charity shops to have a mooch round.

As I have mentioned in a previous post I love a convex mirror, I found this beauty in the first antique shop I visited. It cost me the princely sum of £40 it was priced at £45 so I did manage to get a fiver off. I have never seen one like this before & I would definitely  describe it as 'granny chic'.

It weighs a ton! Think it is going to have to be a hung on a very sturdy wall! My second purchase of the day came from the last shop we visited, a bargain £15 for a 1960's genie bottle.

Such a lovely green colour, was so pleased with it and looks awesome next to my new print.
If you do manage to visit Bridgnorth, happy antique hunting :-)

Kitsch Vintage Heads!

This little lady I acquired from my Nan, I always admired her as a child hanging on  the wall in the front room. I believe she's from the 1950's  and is Chalkware. I think they are relatively rare?!

I have made a kitsch vintage head board over on pinterest but as I'm not that computer savvy, I  don't know  how to add the link. Doh! You can check it out using the pinterest link at the top!

There seems to be quite a variety of these chalkware heads, here's just a few of my favourites;

How awesome would  they look as a collection?

However, better than just a Chalkware head is a chalkware head lamp, got to get myself one of these beauty's!!!

What do you think? Think they might be a bit off a Marmite item, love em or hate em?

You can follow me over on pinterest, and instagram, links at the top, or here :-)

White with a hint of orange!

As much as I love bright colours & patterns it is nice sometimes to mix it up with a bit of white & a bit of texture. I have found myself recently collecting some white ceramics. I am drawn to them for their different textures.
The ceramic swan and stripey vase look stunning together due to the contrast in texture and the orange of the flowers and cacti. I love to play around at placing  and styling different objects.

I have added an Orla Kiely vase into the mix here, I am a particular fan of  her ceramic white range with the different raised flowers and coloured interior. The beauty of white ceramics  is they are transferable and your not just stuck with having them in one room to fit a colour scheme etc.

As I was playing around & styling the orange roses, I couldn't  resist placing them in my favourite vintage orange glass, really love the orange with orange!

What do you think?

One for the Kitchen!

In my last post I was chatting on about table lamps, I love them. I also don't mind a ceiling shade or a pendant lamp.
For the new house I have been researching pendant lights, I adore the idea of having three lights hung together.
I came across these at www.bodieandfou.com they are by Kathleen Hills and I think they are adorable. So simple & vintage looking. They are £85 each so, unfortunately probably out of my price range. I think what appeals to me, is that they are all similar yet different shapes.

This Image I found on Pinterest and although I'm not a fan of the kitchen the lights are very impressive. The green & turquoise colours are beautiful.

These glass lights are also very impressive,  such beautiful colours, would  look really  nice over a table. Lights are so important  to  add atmosphere and ambience to a room.
